Respiratory health professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond will gather in Penang, Malaysia, from 19–22 November 2026 for the 30th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR 2026).

Taking place at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, this year’s congress will explore the theme ‘Reimagining Respiratory Care’, bringing together clinicians, researchers and other healthcare professionals to share the latest research, discuss challenges in respiratory medicine and explore new approaches to improving patient care.

The scientific programme will cover a broad range of topics, including:

  • Climate, air quality and lung health: Understanding the impact of environmental factors on respiratory disease.
  • Lung cancer: Developments in early detection, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Digital health and AI: How new technologies are influencing respiratory medicine.
  • Asthma and COPD: Updates in treatment and the management of complex respiratory conditions.
  • Sleep and respiratory medicine: New developments in the diagnosis and management of sleep-related breathing disorders.
  • Innovation in respiratory care: Advances in interventional pulmonology and emerging technologies.

The four-day programme will include plenary lectures, scientific sessions, workshops and opportunities to share research and experience with colleagues from across the region.

For FIRS, international congresses such as APSR provide an important opportunity to bring the respiratory community together, share expertise and build connections that support better lung health around the world.
