Celebrating lung health at CHEST 2026
The first day of the CHEST 2026 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, on 18 October will also mark Love Your Lungs Day – an opportunity to raise awareness of lung health and highlight the importance of protecting our lungs throughout life.
Taking place from 18–21 October, the CHEST 2026 Annual Meeting brings together professionals working across pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine to share the latest research, explore advances in clinical practice and discuss ways to improve patient care and outcomes.
Advocacy is a key focus of this year’s meeting, with sessions exploring how healthcare professionals can help shape policies and influence decisions that affect respiratory health. The programme includes a session with Dr Maxine Dexter, the first pulmonologist elected to the US Congress, highlighting the important role of advocacy in bringing lung health issues to the forefront of public and political discussion.
At FIRS, we believe that protecting lung health requires global collaboration, greater awareness and action at every level. From prevention and early diagnosis to access to effective treatments and clean air, raising the profile of respiratory health is essential to improving lives around the world.
